I discovered that, at least on this website, the HTC Sync App Version 3.3.21 (157.17 MB) is compatible with Windows 8. The HTC website itself does not state that this version is Win8 compatible.

I am not 100% sure, so I would like confirmation from someone.

I recall that when I had a version on iTunes on my window computer (in the last year or 2), that I could choose a import setting for apple lossless encoding when ripping CD. I have since downloaded newer versions of iTunes and cannot edit the settings for apple lossless. The evidence I have is 2 of the same song converted to apple lossless with different MB sizes.

Can anyone confirm if there was an option to edit the settings for apple lossless encoding when ripping a CD to an older version of iTunes on Windows? And if so what version?

If there's anyone wondering about how long I've been using PCs etc. My first ever computer was an old Commodore 64 on which I played mainly a game called Klemens. Then I had a Polish version of NES - Pegasus on which I just loved Mario. It wasn't until 1999 that I've got my first PC, then with windows 98. Anyway when it comes to computer games my favourite times are probably late 90's and early 2000's. I often find myself looking for games of these times instead of playing the newest titles, simply because I dislike the way the gaming industry is going into direction of interactive movies. But oh well.
