Red face Download of older Firefoxes "corrupted" - 12-02-2008

Hi!

Something went wrong with my FF 2.0.0.18, so I came here to download .16.

Did that, and tried to open it, but got "unable to extract" "file corrupt" error message.

Downloaded .15 and had the same results.

I don't want to switch to 3.0; all I want is to be able to use my "old," comfortable version of Firefox.

Any ideas?

(Please keep your advice relatively simple, as I'm only a moderately proficient "civilian" computer user, and don't do anything more complicated on my computer than e-mail, surf, and listen to my own music.
Windows XP, 2002 Gateway.)

Thank you in advance. I'll check back in tomorrow.

The file you downloaded was probably not completed. Download a download manager like http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ and try to download it again from oldapps.com.

Having to post an easy step is much more harder than posting some real steps. But anyways, it's our job to post our solutions to their problem.
I owe you one help_desk

Hi, Guys!

I didn't mean to be rude or ungrateful -- I've had several non-computer-related problems at home, and then one doozy of a computer-problem which I caused for myself and had to sort out on my own.

However, if I had not been interrupted by life, I would have logged on to tell you that I have been happily using "Orbit downloader" with no problems. So, a belated Thanks!
