If you're having trouble installing the program you said you have downloaded here, you can download it from adobe site instead. Here's the link: Adobe Flash Player
You can choose what version you want.
I stumbled onto this site while looking for a copy of Macromedia's Flash player 9. The program was stored here as a zip file,, my thanks to the creators and those who maintain this site,
. I downloaded and unpacked the file, found the Activex control that works for windows XP and internet explorer. When I tried to run the program, a fraction of a second after setup starts another window popped open
. The installation stopped and whether I clicked either the OK button or the X in the top right the result was the same, it aborted,
. I am hoping someone is able to tell me how to bypass the second window and allow the installation to continue.
Thank you

Thank you Roipatrick;
I have downloaded an identical file from Adobe's site and when I tried to install it I got the same result. The only player that will install is flash 10, but this doesn't work well for me because I have and use a piece of software that will not work with the newest Adobe player. My best guess is that this is how Adobe has set things up so the old flash players can only be used by programmers to test and make sure their new flash video and games, etc will work with the older players. If my theory is valid then I need someone with knowledge of programming to explain to me how to get into the software and which lines to remove to prevent the window from opening. I am hoping someone that frequents this site will see my posts and provide a solution, not only for me but anyone who finds themselves with the same dilemma.
I think it will take some time before i can figure this one out. Hope to have your patience but i will do everything to hasten things up.

I felt I should leave a short note to let you know that I appreciate the time you are spending to help solve the problem. I am also trying to find a solution on other websites. No matter who discovers a way to bypass the offending window I will post the answer in this thread.
Thanks again.
Have a great day.

I don’t know if anyone is still trying to help solve the problem I have introduced in this thread but I have a little more information for anyone that finds themselves in the same situation, it may or may not be helpful. But I do believe it is one step closer to the solution. I was looking in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder for a different file and came across a file named “Macromed” and on a whim I looked inside. It contained a file named “Flash” and inside this file I found one called simply “install”. When I browsed this file I found a series of commands that, I’m certain, directly relates to the aborting of the Flash setup. An excerpt from a few lines prior to the message that shows up in the window is as follows;
name="C:\DOCUME~1\*****\LOCALS~1\Temp\nsh126.tmp\f pinstall.dll"
File: wrote 8704 to "C:\DOCUME~1\*****\LOCALS~1\Temp\nsh126.tmp\fpinst all.dll"

RMDir: RemoveDirectory("C:\DOCUME~1\*****\LOCALS~1\Temp\n sh126.tmp\")
I am now trying to find away to get into the installer for the program and see if Adobe has included an allowance to prevent the window from opening. If I discover anything new I will add to this thread.
If the reader of these words understands the programing or has any thoughts or ideas I am open to all suggestions.
Thank you, and have a great day.

Yes, im still searching for a way to install it and run it without experiencing some errors and im sorry if it took so long but currenlty im still experiencing some errors regarding your problem.
I have found also this error message you posted.
I'm now an inch away from reaching the solution.
Maybe it will take some more time a week perhaps before i can release a solution.
