My name is Cleo, and I've just joined because I want to help those who have the Firefox 11 Not Responding problem. I faced this problem on my office PC, OS Windows 2007, where I had Firefox 11.0 installed. Though I uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice, nothing happened, and the strange thing is that even with the new installations, my choices of addons and skins were aut omatically reappearing. I finally uninstalled all the addons and reverted to Firefox default skin before uninstalling Firefox 11. I then visited the Firefox Old Apps Page and downloaded and installed Firefox 10.2 . I also went to Tools - Options - Advanced - Network - Settings. and changed the existing settings ('Use Proxy Settings') to 'Use System Settings'. When I restarted Firefox - voila! everything was back to normal. BIG sigh of relief. Though I tried all of the above in the FF.11 version, it did not work.

Just thought this might help. Strange thing is, I use FF.11 on my Dell Mini Inspiron laptop at home where my OS is XP Professional. (in fact, I'm using it right now to type this post) and it works just fine. On my office computer, I also have Google Chrome and IE installed, because I have to download live figures from the Power (Energy) Exchanges every day and in case one browser doesn't work, one of the others does the job.

Could having three browsers installed have had something to do with FF.11 suddenly not responding? I wonder. Anyway, everythings OK now, but if anyone else faces a similar situation, you might want to use FF 10.2 and follow the steps outlined above. Thanks for reading this post. Hope someone finds it helpful.
