PC freezes a lot..is format can be avoided ..!!

Hi guys,

Ok in my PC if i try and play a audio songs, there is no sound.. sometimes there are sum pop-up appears saying can't read the disk or access is denied & freezes on working ,i can't open new window takes lots of time PC slows a bit so I backed up all of my data..to format but i don't want to format my PC..

I have a lot of question before i can answer your problem.

1) How long do you use your Operating System and what it is?
2) Aside on Antivirus for security and protection did you use also spyware tools?
3) Have you ever to Defrag the local drive?
4) May i know what is the Notifications appear on the screen?
5) and lastly did you use any program that lock your local drives like Folder Lock?

Well i experienced this before. There are many things that might be causing this problem.
1. CD has a lot of scratches that causes the player not to read it.
2. There are many songs installed in your PC. (This uses a lot of memory)
3. You CD player maybe malfunctioning.

Id you think none of the reasons stated above is the problem, please let us know so we can put an end to your problem.

CD player may have a defect like a worn out lamp to read optical disks. I faced the same problem and had to replace the CD RW drive.

I agree with this. I have before a CD player that malfunctioned and i thought it was my WMP that has a problem until a friend told me to check the lamp in my CD Player.

Hi Rafael Sean

I agree you need to check you CD RW or CD Rom maybe its not functioning. Try to clean it with a clean cloth first and then try to restart you computer. Also check your computer maybe you have little space left thats why your computer is freezing up or the CD file that you are using maybe infected that is why your computer is acting up. Lastly, please check the file extension format from the cd that you're trying to play, use in your computer because your computer might lack the needed software extension.
