Trouble with Installing Skype on Mac OS 10.3.9

I'm sorry if I'm too slow to understand your problem.
So your problem is you have downloaded skype but cannot install it?

Okay. Here's what you are going to do

1. download skype from this website, click here.
2. If id doesn't work (this is version 2.8 i guess) post here the exact error message that shows up upon installation.

When dowloading through Safari, the dowload box says "verification failed," and then when attempting to open the .dmg file, the Disk Image Mounter says "codec overrun."

P.S. I am now getting that pair of error messages with other Internet downloads as well. Think I have a larger problem, and if so, any ideas?

When dowloading through Safari, the dowload box says "verification failed," and then when attempting to open the .dmg file, the Disk Image Mounter says "codec overrun."

For the dmg file error message that says you can't open it.
Brief introduction about codec, it means coder /decoder which in some cases converts binary signals to digital and vice versa.
If it says codec overrun it means that the disc image mounter is decisively defeating or occupying the position of the .dmg file.
You have to open it with an opener.
Download the .dmg file opener here.


For the verification Failed message when using Safari
Have you tried downloading skype using other browser, for example firefox and internet explorers.
Try downloading it using different broswer and if doesn't work try using a download manager to download it.

**If none of the two choices about downloading skype worked kindly update us and we will look for another way for you to download skype without errors.

I didn't use Skype for more than one year with my Mac Mini 1.42 GHz G4. At that time I used it to make phone calls.

I am trying to use it again but with a camera and I have all the time the same problem i.e. the Skype crashes once the person I am calling tries to answer to my call.

Any advise how to fix this problem?

Are you and the person on the other end using the same version of Skype?

Also check your internet connection speed.
