Red face Update to older version itunes-don't know what that version was

I installed a newer version of itunes and when I tried to open it I got the error message, "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes". I don't know which version I had before. Is there any way to find this?

This is what you have to do to know what version of itunes your using:

1)You need to open you itunes
    2) Go to the help tab which is commonly located or seen in the far right of the list option at the top of the page. Get it??
3)Under help click "About itunes and it will show you the version of itunes you are using.

If this post doesn't help send a photo or a snapshot of your itunes and i will check it.

That's because you went back to older itunes. Go ahead and move itunes.itl from My Documents > My Music > iTunes to your desktop and then start itunes again.

This will remove all of the songs listing in your itunes library. To add music again to itunes.
    • Open iTunes again
    • Go to File Menu
    • Select "Add a fodler to library"
    • And select the fodler in which your music is saved.

    Good luck.
