Lime wire, according to most people is like a download manager but they mainly download songs, videos, photos and less applications. Some of us or them or anyone else seek advice from different forums just to solve their problem regarding Lime Wire. Well, i have face a few errors myself which i can also share to you and about to share to you a few hints where did these errors come from, how to fix it and how to determine if those and these are errors or what.

  1. When you open the lime wire exe or limewire itself and you wanted to download a song but when you enter the name of the song and click go it will search,yes, but it doesn't show the songs you typed in.
  • It may be your internet connection. A net connection does timeout. When your provider thinks you are overusing internet they will set a short timeout that may cause all your work to halt even limewire. HOW TO FIX? Close limewire, save your files and whatever you're doing and restart your computer.
2. When you download a file something happens to your computer. Pop
up windows started popping up simultaneously, cannot close them
and when you try closing it another pop up will open.
  • It can be a virus overpowering your system. Some files has a virus on it so downloading a not so sure file can cause this error. HOW TO FIX? The only way to fix this is to reformat your computer. This virus in lime wire, once sets in will prevent you to install any anti virus. So be sure to have an anti virus installed.
3.You cannot open your lime wire. Tried everything, even uninstalling
and installing an older and even a new version but nothing seems to
work.
  • When your lime wire crashes and you wish to upgrade it or downgrade it or just reinstall it, be sure you delete the whole application first. Remember that when a single file remain, you cannot install another version of lime wire. Registry will detect a file left by the older lime wire and will read the left file instead of the new file. HOW TO FIX? When uninstalling, uninstall it properly. After uninstalling lime wire, check for left files so you can delete it finally and restart first you computer before installing to set the registry to default.
