Thanks roipatrick,
How can I identify all temp files on my system.
Is anything in a Temp folder safe to delete?
Thanks...vmars316
Hi again everyone, I'm back on making articles on how to boost your computers speed and what are the things that you need to know why your computers crawl. Read along the tips i created recently and maybe this will help you guys out there.
Things that might affect your computers speed.
1. Start up consumes a lot from you memory since the programs are on standby mode. What I mean is they are open but invisible. Check your task manager and processes. You can see a lot of running programs there that needs to be closed.
2. Defrag your Drive C: if possible to fix broken factors. Broken files consumes a lot of memory since they are stuck forever in you driver.
3. Delete or erase your temp internet files. If you do a disc clean up you will see the temp internet files and old compressed file are stored in your driver. Delete this files.
4. Wallpapers. Moving or animated wall papers need constant supply of memory so having a simple wallpapers should do the trick.
5. Clean up your desktop. Remove icons or files you don't need. Too many icons on your desktop will make your computer run slower than usual.
6. Do not just delete a folder containing installed programs in your PC. Sample is games. IF you delete the folder, it just deleted the files but not the registry or other exe files.
7. Compress your files. Files that are not compressed use a lot of space in your driver thus making the driver to react slower than you expect it would.
There you go guys. If you have questions about this tip, feel free to approach me and i will gladly take any negative and positive comments about this.
Have a great day everyone.

Actually You don't have to delete whats in your temp folder. Just do a disk clean up and it will delete files that doesn't hold much relevance to your computer. If you want to know how disc clean up can help your computer and how to do one, just tell me and i'll post a guide for you.
Thanks and have a great day.

Hi roipatrick,
Will CCleaner do the trick? or can you recommend something?
Thanks...Vernon
CCleaner can also help a lot. There are many members here that advise others to use CCleaner. It really does the job real good. So it will depend on your choice. CCleaner or the old fashioned way of disc clean up.
Thanks and have a blessed day ahead.

Good list but let me expand a little.
1. Closing startup programs may need fiddling around the registry (regedit for win2k) or disabling services from the Control Panel-Admin - which may be daunting for a non-technical user.
2. I take it that broken sectors mean fragmented files? And how does broken files consume more memory?
3. Good point but IE6/7 creates hidden temp folders that store data even after the normal delete option. The folders can be viewed after changing the attributes from a Dos box. Solution- use another browser.
7. Compressing will not change anything if the free disk space is low. The issue is not compressed files vs uncompressed but the amount of free disk space available and the location of the slack space.
Hello vmars316
Let me share my best practice that I do with my computer to help it increase a little speed. What I normally do is I do a Disk Clean from the accessories tab and then system tool for Windows software. Aslo to make your computer boot faster try to select programs that you only want to load at the start >
type at the run box > msconfig and then select the tab for start up > select the program that you only need and then restart computer.
Feel free to post questions and will try to answer it again.
how can i boast up my internet connection its too slow..
