problems downloading flash player

I am running Windows 7, Firefox, and when I try to download an earlier version of Adobe flash player, a window pops up from Adobe and wants an ok to access my computer. After clicking yes, I get an error message telling me I can't download an earlier version, and to go download the latest version. Please help
