    Default itunes circa 2004

hi, my problem is, i downloaded the itunes version 7, but my ipod is the older generation that can play only mp3s. when i plug my ipod, it says that there is an error and that i need to restore my ipod to default settings, and that i need to update to version 3.1.1, but i cant find any in the internet. Now when i explored through my ipod the software was completely corrupted and i cant use it anymore, a message is saying that i need to format the ipod.. when i bought my ipod last 2004, it includes an installer, but i am from the philippines and i am now working in saudi arabia and i forgot to bring along the cd. please help me to find a software that can restore my ipod. thanks and more power.

You can try searching for ipod updater on google. I'm sure there are several site that provide old ipod updater. Once you find them you can just install it directly on the ipod.
