Try all of the versions one of them should work. Meanwhile I will go ahead and try them by myself too.
I am new to the forum but thought I would see if anyone out there knows how I can get a working version of IE for Mac. I have to access a project website for work and to view it I have to run IE. I am running OS X.4.8 and I have downloaded from oldapps.com IE 5.2.3, but when I open it I get the spinning black and white wheel and nothing downloads.
I need to find some way to get this to work. Any suggestions?
Thank you

Get Old Versions
I downloaded and installed a couple of the older versions (OS 9) and restarted my computer, and then did the IE 5.2.3 update and when I opened IE it starts to open www.msn.com but nothing comes in. Did this work for you?
Major Advisor,
I opened google in Safari and drug the address into IE in my dock and google opened up just fine. I was then able to navigate to the project site I needed and everything seems to be working just fine. For some reason I think that www.msn.com would not load, dragging www.google.com onto the IE icon by-passed the msn. So I guess the msn site was the problem. Thanks for your help.
SWEET SUCCESS.

Are you sure you downloaded version 5.2.3 for mac from here? http://mac.oldapps.com/internet_explorer.php
I'm sure you might have landed on a version for Windows.
