Yahoo Messenger voice doesnt work

I un-installed yahoo messenger 8.1 thinking thats the reason my confrence with voice didnt work,I un-installed 8. went back to 7.5. I did the call set up, my mic works there, but when I try to use my mic in room it doesnt work and I have no ears. What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure your room volume for recieve and transmit is not down/muted?
