Firefox for Mac OS 9.2.2

I´ve bought an old Mac G4 Cube with Mac OS 9.2.2 on it. Microsoft Explorer isn´t working very well, so I want to install Firefox. The problem is that appearently this version of the system won´t accept .exe-files or .dmg-files. (Asks for the program in witch the .exe or .dmg was made)
What should I do?

You would not be able to run firefox on Mac OS 9.2.2 minimal requirement is Mac OS X.3 and even the old Fx 1.0 needed Mac OS X .
