Spyware removal for Mac OS X 10.1.5??

Hello,

One reason why I switched from Windows to Mac was because I got rather annoyed by all kinds of viruses, spyware, etc. However, recently my Mac (OS X, version 10.1.5, PowerPC G3 with Mozilla 1.7.13) slowed down. Therefore I wonder whether it is possible for this computer to get infected with spyware (or viruses) and if so, what programme can I use to get rid of it?

I think its really hard to get a virus on mac but if u are sure that u might have something download avast for mac

Thanks for the Avast-link, but unfortunately my Mac is too old for that: Avast works from 10.4 or something, and I just have a modest 10.1.5...
That it's slow from time to time might have to do something with the fact that it's old and therefore not compatible with all the recent graphics. Nevertheless I'll keep on searching for Mac anti-spyware software.
The weird thing is that there was already Virex (McAfee) installed on the Mac when I bought it. I thought McAfee was for Windows only, but well, according to this programme there are no infected files on my Mac.

Mac is almost as secure as any system can get. If that software says its clean then i would believe it. But just to be on safe side keep the anti spyware program updated.

I'll try to come back to this post if I run into a good anti-virus for 10.1 systems.

Hi guys is it really necessary to download a spyware software or an antivirus for mac? I think mac is secured enough compare to windows based operating system.
