    Hey Reivax,

First of all you dont need to wipe off the hard drive just because your sound card doesnt work. There is plenty of drivers out there that can may be help you to fix just the sound card problem.

Post some information about your computer here (model, make, model number, etc.) I might be able to help you locate the correct drivers for that computer.

If you still want to wipe out the drive then you can insert a "Windows XP" disk into your computer and just run it it will eventually remove everything from your hard drive.

Also to be able to save all of your "My Documents" on the D dive please follow the information here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147

    Hi Reivax,

In addition to iOLD's comments, if you need to wipe out all data's in your harddrive then their are 2 ways.
No.1 is to use format command through your O.S installation disc, just follow the instructions and their should be a step there that says "Format your harddrive"

No.2 is to use a third party software like Partition Magic or Norton Ghost. Both of them are bootable CD's.

In changing your saving drive from Drive D:\ to Drive C:\ first things first, before installing your O.S make sure that you set your active partition to Drive C:\.

Or if you are downloading using the internet then for sure all you need to do is to go to options of your Internet Explorer find the options that says "Download location". For your sound I couldn't make any comment on that because I really have no Idea or lack of information about your computer.
