Default Trying to take off Vuze/Azureus to put older version on having problems

I have Azureus 3.1.0.0 and wish to go back to Azureus 2.5.0.4
When I got to add/remove in windows and ask to removed the programme I get a little warning box telling me that it 'could not find main class programme' and I am unable to remove Azureus or Vuze as it's now called, off my PC. When I went to remove all torrents and close the programme down having re-booted, all that went fine. I then clicked on the icon to close/exit the programme and got yet another warning box which read
'Java Virtual Machine Launcher - could not find main class programme will exit'
    I have re-installed java.
I am still unable to remove Azureus.
I hope that is clear and any advice or help would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Go to http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.ne....0_windows.exe and download that particular version of Vuze again. (Azureus 3.1.0.0)

Then install it again on your computer. Then go ahead and go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall that version.

Hi, I've done that since I posted. It will not let me put on the older version that I wanted as it is telling me it will upgrade my system to the new version which I definitely don't want. When my PC was being overhauld, I put the older version on but it still deferred to the new one so that doesn't seem to work.
I just don't understand the warning message and believe me, I have tried everything I know to sort this issue out. If I knew what the warning message meant, I may be able to do something but that has me a little baffled.
Thanks for writing back so quickly I appreciate that.

um... it seems that it is some sort of registery problem. Have you tried using utorrent? If you just want to use a regular bittorrent client, i suggest just switching over to utorrent. It uses the least amount of cpu usage and its lighting fast.
