This would be the last version (http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...ndows2000.html) that was supported by Apple for Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 users.
Hi! I have Windows 2000, and I installed itunes 7.3.2 last year. I only recently used it and have bought the ipod nano 3rd generation. When I tried to put music in the ipod, a pop-up window informed me that I needed itunes 7.4 or newer to use the ipod. Which of the versions on this site will work with Windows 2000 and allow me to use my current ipod? Is there a way for mme to use my ipod with my current itunes version? Should I try to get a different ipod of mp3 player? ThanksLacy

Get Old Versions
that is the version I currently have. Is there any way that I can use my ipod nano 3rd generation with the current program? If so, how? If not, what are my options? I admit I am very surprised that the newer ipods do not work with older versions of itunes.
If your generation of Ipod is 2 or lower, it'll work on Windows 2K, his 3rd generations needs XP or higher. However, there's a workaround
1. Download the Winamp Media Player
2. Download iPod_Support_v3_02.exe (http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/)
3.Install Winamp, then the plugin.
4.Choose correct Ipod when prompted.
5. Let it copy your music folder.
6.Connect your Ipod and let it sync with the player, or press sync.
7. You will see your Ipod under Devices on the left side.
8. For videos, you can download the Xilisoft Ipod Converter 3 from download.com to convert regular videos to Ipod format.

Thanks! I downloaded winamp and plug-in. The ipod works with it. The question I have is about my songs in my itunes library. About half of them showed up in winamp, but the others did not. I think it is because the format has to be changed, and these songs are 'protected'. How can I put these songs into winamp?
thanks![]()
