I am trying to download a older version of itunes. when I upgraded to 6.0.5. It will not open and I would like to re-install an older version. I can only get the latest version to download. I am using Windows XP Pro.

In order to remove the newver version of iTunes, go to
Control Panal => Add or Remove Programs and the select iTunes remove the softfware.

After uninstalling the software, go to oldapps.com and get the older version of iTunes. Download it and install it.

I currently have iTunes v4.x and want to upgrade to version 6.0.5 I found here. Is there a particular process I should follow, or does the 6.0.5 installer handle it automatically?

The process will take care of all upgrades. You do not need to back up anything or follow any process.

I just downloaded the new itunes 7 and I cant stand it so I want to go back.
If I delete Itunes will my libray go with it?

your music files will not go away but your playlist will be erased.

I installed the old one and when i try to open it i get the message." the file "itunes library.itl" can not be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes." What do i do to get it to work?

Some how you will have to figure out a way to delete that file from your computer. You can run a search to find that exact file.

I know where the file is but if i delete will all of my libries go with it? I have a folder that has old itunes librarys.

um.. good question. I will try to do the same by myself and let you know if it delete those libraries. So please allow me 1 to 2 days to tell you exactly what you need to do.
