AIM problems...
I've been having some problems with the aformentioned things lately. For chats, whenever I receive an invite, instead of getting an invite I get a message that says "Cannot get invite information from ______, try again later". When I try to start chats, I get errors and it won't let me do that either. That's really bothering me.
For Direct IM's, I can't connect with anyone. It doesn't matter if I try to connect with them or vice-versa. I always get the message that they didn't respond to the request. I changed the firewalls around and all of that, even reinstalled AIM twice, and that wasn't fixed.
Is there a step that I'm missing here? Is there something I can do to fix this?
Oh, I'm using the old AIM 5.9 by the way, and have tried fixing the problem with Triton but it still didn't help.
well if AIM is not working for you. I think you should try Trillian or MIranda. I have tried both but I prefer Miranda over trillian because it's open source and it has many plugins available to add directly into the software.
However, trillian is pretty useful too. Tyr them out at www.miranda-im.org/ and www.trillian.cc

However, I'm still looking for a solution other than using another program, so if anyone knows what I can do, that'd be appreciated.

That seems to only be for MSN messenger. Again, I'd really like to find a way to fix this without switching my messenger program.
It seems like we were not able to help you so I am gonna go ahead and post your message in the AIM's actual developers forum. Most likely they will be able to help so just check back this page sometime in next two days and see if we have received any solutions.
