    Default need help guys... please

Hey guys... i'm new to the forums but i need to some help. I have a 30gb video ipod. I have searched and searched on this subject and have tried a lot. My ipod was dead for a long time and i tried to charge it the other day, but got the "connect to itunes" message to restore it. so i did... itunes finally read it but read it as "ipod" and not what it usually is. So i triend to restore it and i got the 1418 error. Here is what i have tried to fix the problem...

*manual restet w/ center and menu buttons then itunes (1418 error)
*manual reset then holding down center/play buttons to have "disk mode" appear then itunes (1418 error)
*uninstalling itunes and downgrading (1418 error)
*wanted to format but my ipod wont appear in my computer or disk managment
    *upgraded/uninstalled usb driver
*tried using ipod reset program but it wont detect ipod

..... lets hear it guys what can i do?

It looks like that the hard disk inside might have a problem within it. Have you tried if its still covered under Apple's warranty?

There's something in your programs that kept your your system to detect your iPod.
Search for this programs using your task manager.

Try using songbird and see if that program detects the ipod. Also try installing linux on it. That might get to to work.

Is songbird also applicable for windows and other operating systems besides linux or something?
Some one is asking me about this matter.
