In the past I've used Picasa with no problems. After having operating problems with Windows I had my system professionally diagnosed and serviced which included backing up all of my files & downloads, wiping the slate clean and re-installing. Picasa was overlooked. I can now, not install it, although had no problem the first time, several years ago. It downloads, but does not install or run?
I'm not very computer savvy on the tech side so would greatly appreciate any ideas on what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks,

Thanks for the link. I will try that & to answer your questions (if that doesn't work for me) :
4CPU 3.20 GHz, 1.12GB. I initially attempted to install Picasa 3 & then Picasa 2.2 w/ same results.
After opening the download link from the desktop and clicking RUN I received the following message each time;
C:\Documents and Settings\Randi\Desktop\ Picasa 2.2_build_28.20 exe is not a valid Win32 application.
I went to programs & Windows Exlorer, but Picasa did not show up in either.
Thanks again for the help.

That linked worked perfectly. Thanks so very much for quickly solving a very frustrating dilemma.
I don't know what the difference was between that site & the official Picasa site, that I wasn't able to install from, but now all photos are imported and those on my camera are downloading as I write.
Again, thanks so much.

Hello,
I know I am probably not in the correct place for this, But, I am new, and this was close as I could get to my problem.....I am not very computer literate (as you can tell) and, after all that , here is my dilemma:
My Picasa crashed..... I need help, if possible, to get it back without loosing everything I have in it....
I have a crash ID# 8c17b167b6a14620fe5fb27438f53
also, some debugger in a temp picasa folder: 100119-074251.dmp
I cannot seem to find it, But as I said, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, when it comes to computer smarts......
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank you!
WHOO HOOOO.. I FIXED IT!!!!! I do not know how it happened, maybye some kind of update, but, there was alot of stuff on the picasa folder--buttons, pugins, ect.... I deleted all of those, it updated, and came back with everything in it.....Pretty simple actualy, now i feel real stupid.....
Everyone have a great day!!

whenever you find such problems with picasa, the easiest way to solve that is uninstalling it (NOT DELETING), re-start your computer and the re-installing picasa. Keep an installation setup file at hand, always works even if you are not a computer genius.
@Randira, one possible reason behind your getting <C:\Documents and Settings\Randi\Desktop\ Picasa 2.2_build_28.20 exe is not a valid Win32 application> is that the download process of picasa was not completed by some reasons and all you got is a setup file less in size than the actual one or corrupted sepup file for picasa.
