Hello, and please forgive me for asking a question that's probably been asked before — I'm a theatre composer on tour away from home for six weeks, and I need to Skype my partner from a very old laptop (his is a current MacBook, works fine with current Skype) — what I have is a white iBook, G3 500 MHz, 10.3.9 — I've installed Skype 2.6.0.151, and it works fine for chat — the built-in mic is broken, so I bought a USB mic, and tested it once, talking to my daughter in Italy — not great, but audible — now, trying to talk to my partner, I can hear him, and he can't hear me at all — checking Audio in System Preferences, my settings are correct and the mic shows a strong signal — I also can record fine in Audacity, so I know the mic is operating OK on this machine — Skype help tells me to adjust the volume setting in Skype, however, I can't find any audio level setting window in this version of Skype —
is there a later version of Skype I can use with my little old laptop?
