I have to say Hi,
Ok i just posted a wustion about my Imac g3 and its not showing up,

So i think I havt to post here, and get it moved? (I'm new to fourm thing)

I have An old Imac G3 from 2001, It was running 10.4.9

I would Like to run Skype (No video)
I ned to call out only, Adium, Web surfing, I-defrag (For other apple computers ) Torrent downloading, M$ Office(04\08) , Iwork (08\09) and Also some light file sharing,

The specs are

Os
Os 9.2.2
OSx 10.4.11 (Istalling at the moment)

Prosser Speed
500Hm
Ram
Over 300Mb
24X Cd Burrner
Hdd
160 Gb only 127 (shows Up)

Do you think thats good to do all of that and what are good versons of skype and adium, and also what are the good web brouses for like youtube\facebook,? Thanks I would like to keep this pice of history alive, (Its my family's first computer)

Well Ok for my Imac g3
Skype 1.5.0.8 Is the best one that works, (the new one does not open)
Adium (The new one works)
Iwork 08 Work
M$ Office 2004\2008 Both work, (I install M$ office off of my Mac book disk drive via fire wire) Office O8 should not work on g3 as it needs g4 with 800 Mh or more
Transmission Works
CCC works
SuperDuper works
Idefrag Works
Mac Tracker works Fine as Well
And I-life that comes with 10.3 Works Fine as Well

I'm going to Try I-life 08

I-work\Life 09 Will not Work at all, as it needs Leopard

Most G4/5 Programs should work, as the porgam will is it has the G not the number of the g ( I think)

I think there a MAC upgrading tool available in net. If you want i can search it for you. You can turn your mac into leopard.

Yes I got you man.

Yes iLife probably will not install unless you do some hardware upgrades on your machine and then install Leopard on it.

Also you would have to buy the DVD from Apple to install Leopard on your machine. Which is available here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC094Z/A

Unfortunately Mac OS upgrading tools is not available for free downloads, it costs some money. If you're looking for free upgrading tools of Mac OS, all i can give you is to try looking for torrent sites. They have 100% free downloads of these kinds of programs.
