I've been using Zamzar. It's a free Web-based conversion service.
The advantage is I can upload from my work computer and download on my home computer.

Some video converter can of course convert but it lacks in some aspects....what if you want to convert a HD film. Thankful guy's link works very good. It specialize in HD videos.
