Unhappy hotmail probs - 06-13-2009

Sorry if this is an old thread, I'm a newby. Until today, when I clicked on my desktop hotmail shortcut, I went straight to my inbox. As of today, I went to a homepage and when I clicked on inbox it showed the same two messages over and over again - one marked unread and the other marked read - and wouldn't let me delete or open them. A yellow bar at the top of the page told me internet explorer (I'm using vista home premium) was working without add-ons and to refresh it. But I can't find any refresh button on the toolbars. In any case I've no idea if the two things are cponnected. P.s. I registered as "technophobe" but it only seems to have got "tech"

since there seems ot be no refresh button try this left click the mouse over the address bar where the url is and hit enter, this should force ie i to load the page from the server rather than your ie cache
another solution is to click on tools then internet options then when the comes up click on clear cache then clear history
close ie then reboot
this will also force IE to use the fresh loaded page rather than your cached copy

It was a while ago, but I think it must have been by browsing until I got the hotmail inbox page and then right-clicking and selecting "create shortcut"

I'm not sure. Just on a blankish bit of the web page, I think. I usually find that if I navigate to a web page, then put my cursor almost any where on the page, I get the drop down box that allows me to create a short cut. I have a desk top full of them, and apart from hotmail, they all seem to work.

to refresh page there is one short cut and that is

CTRL + R
----------------------------------------------------------
click on start button then open your current user.

then open AppData > Local > Temp

delete all files from Temp folder. if some file dont let u delete then dont delete !! skip it.

then goto internet explorer > Tools > Internet Options

Delete temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords, and web from informations.

then open hotmail manualy !

it will work smoothly and ofcourse u will be able to delete those mails too but all your shortcut will not work. !!

instead of making shortcuts

use to bookmark them.
