    Default the safest browser

    i set up an old computer and due to slowness, i'm thinking of keeping disabled the antivirus. what browser would be the safest when browsing on the internet?

    I highly suggest Firefox. Chrome is also good.

    I agree that firefox should work and it does not use as much RAM as IE also the security isseus with IE dont make ita good choice I beta test for the different browsers and if I wanted to spend my time fixing security issues aIwould use IE but I would rather surf so I use either Netscpa eor Firefox
    btw for older slower machines ifnd an old copy Netscape 4.79 or 6.1
    it will still support most Java apps and active X but run much faster

    FireFox should do the trick as well as other web browser but we strongly advice you to study IE first before using it if you are looking for the safest.

    IE for me is unreliable in terms of security. if you still prefer IE just make sure you have a good protection on your system (firewall, antivirus etc.)
