    Default Skype for Windows 98

Any version from 1.4 and below should work with windows 98. You can get old version of skype from here. Old Version of Skype Download - OldApps.com

One of the forum member reported that:

I have just tried Skype 3.8.0.188 on my old laptop (with 160MB RAM and a 400Mhz processor) running under Windows 98SE... and it works !

I know that this is an old thread, but I just wanted to let everyone knowanyone who looks at this site to know that it DID work for me. I had to resort to using an ancient computer after the crashing of TWO others, and this one operates on Windows 98. I had been trying to run the newest editions of Skype for hours to no avail. I checked this site, and the first method worked. I hope that this site is helpful for others, because it was 100% helpful for me.

Version 2.0.0.73 works fine on 98 (Well 98se)

I havent tried any of the newer versions.... (In my opinion they have gotton to be OVER BLOATED PIECES OF GARBAGE!! (21 Megs installed (Something like that)))

My favourite version was 0.97.68 (MUCH SMALLER (But they disabled all older versions from connecting!))

I have had a 5 minutes call and no trouble at all. I am very surprised (and pleased), because I tried a lot of other versions of Skype before and this one is the first working on my computer.

Amis francophones, je témoigne que la version 3.8.0.188 de Skype peut fonctionner avec Windows 98SE.
