Question creation times on the downloaders computer

In a file, sharing enviroment such as limewire how does "waiting in line" for hosts, affect the creation times on the downloaders computer? Does giving priority to waiting downloads result in creation times that differ from waiting downloads that were not given priority? Also, if and uploader is too busy to handle a request and queues me on a first come, first served basis, has a "creation time" already been made for that file or will that occur only when I begin receiving actual data?

It will only begin upon receiving the actual data. When the download starts it actually means creation time.

I agree with your answer. It's logical and makes sense. However, I took my computer to a reputable repair guru and he indicated, among other things, that my hard drive had hundreds of empty mp3 files on it and thousands of deleted ones that had not been written over yet. He said that when I ( or more likely son) select large numbers of files to download off Limewire the operating system creates a file for each and every individual file within that group. Even if you don't get the song. So is he correct in saying that the operating system logs all these successful and unsuccessful attempts at file sharing at the moment download is clicked? The presence of empty files on my hard drive would seem to suggest that this is true. For a file that is completed, how can I tell when the actual 1's and 0's started to flow for the info contained within the file? Is this how all file sharing programs ( or operating systems) log their data? Why would I want an empty file on my hard drive ( and an icon on my screen ) when data may never flow into it? The information that I would think is more important is when the data started to flow. Not when the system logged a creation time stamp for a file that never arrives or is delayed by hours or days in arriving.

creation times and dates are based onthe actual completion othe file lanidng on your system ie when the file is finished downloading in this case becasue limewire checks the file for corruption befreo dropping the finished item into the folder you ahve specified
otherwise it sits inhe incomplete folder until done , it does have a time and date there but will differ fromthe completed file

I think the guru told you something that you should know about that and i on one side agree but disagree on the other. Actually when you download some songs using limewire, yes, the net or the PC will create an icon of it. If you see, when you open limewire folder, you can see there, Complete, incomplete and shared. These incomplete are the things that began but doesn't continue or it is chosen but never proceeds into downloading.

When you start to download a file, before it can begin a data transfer, a cache from the host to your pc is created like song.mp3 no data with it.
