Default "Registering iTuns Automation Server" in iTunes

Like millions of people it seems, I made the huge mistake of upfrading to iTunes 9 which suceeded in ruining iTunes for me.

I've since installed, uninstalled and re-installed numerous versions of iTunes and Quicktime since then but can't past the "registering itunes utomation server" step. The install feezes there for hours.

This is the same computer that iTune was running on flawlessly a few days ago.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier time. Maybe it will restore the old iTunes you have in your system.
