Firefox disappears when rebooting, now cannot remount

When I reboot or restart my MAC (10.2.8) Firefox unmounts from the desktop and will not remount from the dmg file. If I redownload Firefox (including older versions) the I still cannot remount it to get it running. I have had this problem before but cannot remeber how I got around it. Suggestions? Also, what should be the best version of Firefox to run on ny MAC?

Try to download the latest version from firefox website and also completely remove the earlier firefox and check if it works?>

You can also remove "Mozilla Firefox" folder from your program files and then reinstall it again. This has worked in the past on my cases.

Hi, have you tried using an uninstallation software before installing it, you can try Revo uninstaller then afterwards you can download a new version and you can have a clean installation.
