    Default Limewire

I have tried downloading and running Limewire, versions 4.9.39, 4.11, 4.8 and NONE of these work!! I used to have an excellent version of Limewire that allowed to use the Bitsy Collider to check others' views of specific torrents, but now the newest version 5.5 doesn't do that. It's crap as far as I'm concerned and not an improvement over the old Limewire versions.

What can I do to get these older apps to work? I remember loading them successfully a couple of years ago. But then I took the advice of Limewire which told me to update to the newest version and since then, I have not been able to get any of the older versions, EVEN WHEN I UNINSTALL LIMEWIRE. Nothing works, except the newest version. I want an older version, preferably 4.9.39. I have even tried other websites, like downloads.cnet, but nothing works except the newer version which I don't like!!

Any suggestions to get a good honest to goodness working Limewire, preferably 4.9.39?

    According to Limewire's own website:

LimeWire is under a court order dated October 26, 2010 to stop distributing the LimeWire software. A copy of the injunction can be found here. LimeWire LLC, its directors and officers, are taking all steps to comply with the injunction. We have very recently become aware of unauthorized applications on the internet purporting to use the LimeWire name. We demand that all persons using the LimeWire software, name, or trademark in order to upload or download copyrighted works in any manner cease and desist from doing so. We further remind you that the unauthorized uploading and downloading of copyrighted works is illegal.

Hi Periwinkle, I strongly recommend frostwire instead of limewire. I think limewire has issue's so it might be possible that their software won't work anymore.
