    Default Microsoft Word 2000 Problem

    Hello,

Yesterday I went to my Control Panel and then Add/Remove Programs. I was having problems with my computer being slow and so I was trying to delete some of the things that I thought I didnt need.

Among the things I deleted were:

    Microsoft Money
    Excel
    Service Pack 1

A computer man had come to my house and installed Service Pack 3 and so I thought I didnt need Service Pack 1

And I never use Microsoft Money, I dont even know what that is, and I thought Excel was just another program I never use and so I deleted all of those.

Now suddenly when I open my Microsoft Word 2000 program, which I use on a daily basis, so it's really important to me, this prompter thing keeps popping up over and over again and its driving me batty,

It says, "Please wait while Microsoft Office 2000 Premium configures..."

Then it says, "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removeable disk that is not available" "Insert the Microsoft Office 2000 Premium disk and click ok"

I have tried inserting all 4 of the Microsoft 2000 Premium disks that I have here but they must not be the right ones because it doesnt work. My ex-husband who I am no longer with, hd installed all of the programs on my computer long ago, perhaps I didnt bring all the disks with me, Im not sure.

But anyway, I tried going online and downloading Microspft Money 2003 and it wont let me...

I also tried downloading the Microsoft Service Pack 1 and it wont let me.

I was reading online that the Excel thing is a viewer? that allows you to view the pages when you use Microsoft Word? So I tried downloading Excel from online and that seemed to work.

But STILL, this Windows Installer thing keeps popping up over and over again, saying I need to

"Please wait while Microsoft Office 2000 Premium configures..."

Then it says, "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removeable disk that is not available" "Insert the Microsoft Office 2000 Premium disk and click ok"

Can anyone please help me with this problem? I would really apreciate the help!

Im just asking that nobody please tell me to just download and use Open Office... because I already did that awhile back and I dont really like it. I much prefer my trusty old Microsoft Word 2000. I was looking for it on my computer to see if there was a thing to reinstall it? But I cant find anything.

As what you said that you remove the Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Money, and Service Pack 1.
Supposed to be you have remove all the programs of Microsoft Office and inserted the CD installer before you uninstall the program.
I will very specific so that you can work normally. Forget everything!
All you have to do is click download and install OpenOffice 3.2.1 (RC 2), that would be better for now. Forget Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Money and remove all Microsoft Office programs as necessary so that the it will not pop-up again.
    Good luck!

Unhappy Re: Microsoft Word 2000 Problem

Okay, I managed to solve the problem with the Winword, and it is no longer prompting the install thing anymore, so thats all taken care of!

But one more question for you?

WI start up my computer, I get this message pop up:
    Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7929f276)

By accident, I went to my control panel and clicked on Administrative tools,
and clicked on the Micrsoft.Net Framework 1.1 Configuration and got this same error message:
    Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7929f276)
so how do I get rid of it then?

SO what I did was look online, to see how to correctly uninstall these Microsft ServicePack 3 and Service Pack 1. I DID manage to uninstall the Service Pack 3 BUT when I go to my Add/Remove programs to try to uninstall the Service Pack 1, and click "remove" it says something is already installing or uninstalling.. and tells me to wait. But it never does anything. AND I noticed when I go to turn OFF my computer, it does this whole thing where it flashes across the screen saying "Updates being installed (1 of 1)... Do not turn off your computer it will turn off automatically".

I dont know if the two things are related or not but it seems to NEVER install anything, these "Updates" and I wait and wait and wait till finally I end up having to just "Cold Turn off" my computer by pressing the turn off button.

How can I get RID of this Microsoft Service Pack 1 stuff completely if it wont allow me to?

You see, what happened, not long ago, is I did a full HP System Restore, and this computer guy came to my house and said it had Service Pack 1 and he added Service Pack 3. I had NO IDEA that it was to do with SECURITY stuff, and since it said "Microsoft Framework" I just assumed it was something that entirely made everything on my computer work right. So I kept trying to install it over and over and it wouldnt install. Because it didnt seem like it was installed right, since I stopped getting any updates notices.

ANYWAY so now I get all these error messages, this morning I woke up and it just kept on and on and on forever giving me these error messages... somehow I got it finally to stop with those but it still gives me some when I start up my computer. I think I just want all of this Microsoft Service Pack stuff completely removed but it wont allow me to!

Can you help me with that? If it keeps saying something is already installing but it never does? HELP!!
