    Question Problems with Limewire

Hi. I had the previous version of limewire and then I decided to upgrade it to the newest one. After downloadingth upgrade my limewire cannot open at all. when I click on it it just shows the pic of the logo that usually appear before it opens to the main page, but i my case the main page does not open at all, the pic of the logo jus stays, therefore my lime wire could no longer open. do I deleted it and found this site so that I could go back the old version that I had which had worked fine when I had it before upgrading. My problem is that when I tried to download Limewire version 4.12.3 from this page I don' think if fully finished setting up. I was able to complete the installation process, but when it came to the setting up process it would freeze when it gets to the part where it asked if you would like Limewire to automatically start whenever I turn on my computer. I tried to click on the Limewire icon and it would jus start the whole set up process again like choosing a country, where to store your files and what internet connection I was using but when I got to the question again of whether I want it to connect automatically and I click "next" it would freeze again. Can some someone please help me with this problem, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Try running it again, but this time wait it out for 5 minutes...
Tell me what happens after, like:

Does it stop responding (e.g., "Limewire (Not Responding...)") ?
Does it allow your cursor to still move while it doesn't open ?
Does the whole computer freeze and not let you move the cursor ?

My whole computer does not freeze and yes my cursor is still able to move, everything else is fine, I am able to still use other programs while the limewire set up is frozen. The limewire set up dialogue window just stays at the screen where is asks you if you want limewire to startup automatically whenever I turn on my computer. After I press "next" for it to go to the next step it doesn't change or do anything, it just remains and doesn't go tothe next step. I've waited a long time to see if it would move on but it doesn't, therefore it doesn't allow me to finish the set up process for limewire in order for me to start using the program and I don't know why. I've tried turning off my computer and re-running it and i tried deleting the program and re-installing it but it still ends up the same way.

    Hey SweetG,

First of all uninstall LimeWire completely. And then follow the following options.

LimeWire uses gnutella networks to look for shared files across computers. Since you are unable to use limewire, I am happy to show you "the mother" of limewire. The program is called FrostWire. You should read more about it here: http://www.frostwire.com/?module=about

Also you can use eMule, Shareaza, DC ++, iMesh.

    hey sweetg

its not a problem with limewire but of your net status. make sure you run
limewire b4 any ports are opened for communication i.e, limewire should be the
    first app. to do that.

good luck, happy downloading & KEEP SHARING.

In the view tab there is a show/hide sub menu in which you can select connections to see the current connections through which limewire is communicating. Do that and post what you found.
