Post remove incredimail completely and get outlook express back

    Hey Kim,

Here is how to remove incredimail completely.

To uninstall IncrediMail then all you need to do is uninstall using add/remove programs:

Go to setting>control panel>add/remove programs (windows 2000) or control panel>add or remove programs (windows XP) . Select Incredimail and select remove/uninstall and follow the instructions.

To completely remove IncrediMail then complete the first stage of the removal (above) to go through the normal uninstall procedure.

Once you have done that you need to remove unneeded IncrediMail files and settings. IncrediMail stores data in three locations the User profile, programs directory and the registry. To completely remove IncrediMail you must remove the data from all three locations as follows:

IncrediMail stores user related data in the user profile in the - documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\Im folder where is the name of the user you log on as. Deleting the IM folder will delete all your IncrediMail emails, letters etc if you want to keep them you can rename the folder to IM-old or similar

Incredimail executables etc are stored usually in c:\program files\Incredimail. Navigate to this folder and delete it.

To delete the registry keys for the IncrediMail program

    Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

For each key that you need to delete, locate the key, right-click the key, and then click Delete:

Under the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key, delete the following keys:
    \.ima

    \.imf

    \.imi

    \.imn

    \.ims

    \.imw

    \Applications\Impcontent.exe

    \Applications\Incredimail

    \Incredicontent

    \Incredimessage

Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key, delete the following keys:
    Software\Classes\.imc

    Software\Clients\Mail\Incredimail

    Software\Elishim\Protect\Browser (remove the Incredimail value)

    Software\Incredimail

Software\Microsoft\Direct3D\Most Recent Applications\ (remove the NAME value that points to Incredimail.exe)

    \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Incredimail
    Delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\
    MenuOrder\Start Menu\Programs\Incredimail key.

    Quit Registry Editor.

    Reference http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;297069

Incredimail should now be completely removed from your system

    From: http://www.oeupdates.com/Uninstall-r...crediMail.html
Outlook express comes with Internet Explorer. You can get more information here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/oe/

Also be sure to remove Indredimail frist and then install the outlook express. You might also like Thunderbird. You should try it out.

    Default Many Thanks

Many thanks for your help....I am so peeved at what they have done and it had to happen on the day i got my brand new computer, so my computer guy was not really impressed....used to love incredimail till this...

Never heard of Thunderbird...will it infiltrate my system like incredimail update and delete outlook again?

Would be pleased, like the other 10million, if anyone finds the old version of incredimail with junk filter.

    Thanks again

Default old vers. with junk mail

I am no expert but I am 90% confident that when I downloaded the version with junk mail it did not have a "build" extension after it, is was simply (incredimail 3.2.1) or something like that.... then ist went to incredimail Xe....but still no "build" number.

I too have upgraded to a new computer and want my old version back.
I still have my old computer at home that had the free junk mail filter.

If you can please get this version for me I would really appreciate it.

It says it is Build ID: 4001930 Setup ID: 7

I will wait for some positive news from someone....

I have been using Incredimail for years now and have managed to find an old version of it. I'm not sure what version it is but 'Build 1930' was released 30 May 2005 and this one was created 'according to my computer' May 2003. Perhaps someone will let me know what version it is when they have installed it.

I have put this pack together for those of you who want IncrediMail before the addition of Junk Filter Plus. It has IncrediMail build 2031, this was the last build before Junk Filter Plus. Also included is IncrediMail Outlook add on, which lets you use the IncrediMail features in Outlook, this add on is no longer available for download on the IncrediMail web site. There is also IncrediConvert, details of what this handy tool does and how to use it are included.

I hope you enjoy this pack.

    EDIT:
The above link is no longer available. I realised that it was not version 2031 but 2077. This one is definately version 2031, I have tried it myself after deleting a newer version. There are also instructions of how to completely remove a newer version of IncrediMail, these instructions also work as I have tried them myself. IncrediMail Outlook add on and Incredi Convert are also included.
