    Default mislabeling of software?

I inadvertently wiped out my old version of Skype 2.8.0.851 replacing it with new version 5.

I then discovered that this new version does not work with my OSX 10.4.11 version

I came to this site by referral from Skype customer support

When I clicked on the download button for Skype 2.8.0.851, I get Elf 1.15.pkg

    What is this?

I saw that too...I did a search to find the version you were looking for (but could only find 2.8.0.863) as it is also the only one that will work on my kids computer downstairs on the mac os 10.3.9 I downloaded it from macupdate (after much searching with links that constantly sent me to 5.0 even though it was labeled 2.8 as well) when you click directly on the skype link it also loads 5.0 LOL, but the macupdate site had the full link to the 2.8 download directly hope this helps...

If the file download did not complete successfully it gives you those errors

Anyhow, in the future, you can try download it directly from OldApps - http://download.oldapps.com/Skype/Ap..._2.8.0.863.dmg as well.
