Locate your music files and just drag and drop. It should save the information automatically.

The general way of doing it is dragging a music file into your windows media player (WMP)

You can decide to open it by means of locating folders.

    1) Click on the "Files" function on the taskbar of functions (File View Play Tools Help).

    2) Highlight "Open" and click on it.

    3) Highlight a song you want to engage on the music player.
3A) You can use the "Look in:" and pull down the menu to search through your directories for the files.
3B) Either double-click on the song, or open.
3C) If you want to, you can also high-light and right-click those highlighted songs to add to the "Now Playing List." To get that time saving function, just make sure that the WMP is the default player for every music file.

    4) It should be playing after you hit "Open" or "Play in Windows Media Player."

But lets say you want to add music to your Library so you can find it easily.

    1) File > Add to Library > ...
1A) Find the option you like
2B) Wait until it finishes finding a path to your songs, and voila!

Let's suppose you want to play music from a CD? With Windows XP, a dialogue often comes up when you put a CD in. Let's say it doesn't.

    1) Play > DVD, VCD or CD Audio > ...
1A) Find the location where the CD is in, it should be highlighted in black letters. The engraved grey letters means that it doesn't recognize that you have a CD in your disc drive.
1B) If it is unable to find a CD, try putting the CD back in or restarting WMP.
