    Question Multiple Ipod-Itunes trouble

Hello, I have a problem. Here at our house, we have five people and each of us has an ipod to ourselfs. We could all use the same itunes and always have until my sister thought it would be a great idea to download the new 7.0.2 version. Now only two ipods can be used on that computer, and unfortunatly, mine being one of them, has the software on the ipod too.
Overall, we all want to be able to use the same computer for all of our ipod needs.
How can i keep all my songs from my ipod and get rid of the new software verson on the ipod?
Will i have to restart my ipod from scratch? and loose all my songs? (deleted off of itunes for more room on the comp)
And how can we get the older version back without loosing all of our kabillion songs we have on the computer now and allow all of our family members to use it again without problems and the dreaded "virus"?

If any further questions arise, Please let me know so i can Verify.
    Thank You

    Welcome Abroad M1-1954,

You have come to right place to get help! One of the best way to resolve your problem is to unistall the current version of your iTunes and revert back to the older version.

I believe that version 6.0.5 would be the best choice for you to run all five iPods on the same PC. Please follow this steps to get back to older itunes

For all of you that need to do the same it's pretty easy:
I downloaded the 6.05 install file from from oldapps, uninstalled 7.01 and then re-installed 6.05. When I ran iTunes it did give me the error message that the library file was created in a new version and couldn't open, but I then deleted the 'itunes library.itl' file (in My Music > iTunes folder) and then replaced it with the backup that was automatically created when I installed 7.01 (in My Music > iTunes > Previous iTunes Libraries). iTunes then started up fine with all my music and playlists. And all the skipping and CPU bogging is better now.
It is always the best to backup your ipods first. If you run into any problems please be sure to ask 'em here.

Ok, now that i have changed the software on the computer, my ipod cannot be read because i used a later software (7.0.2). It says i need to upgrade the software, but that was where i started. How do i go about making my ipod readable to the 6.0.5 software?
Do i need to format my ipod? how should i go about doing that? And this causes me to loose all of my data on the ipod, doesnt it?

If you know of a better soulution, i would appreciate all help.
    Thanx,
    M1
