Take the ipod to someone who fixes it. I think your hard drive in the ipod is broken.

Exclamation Re: corrupted ipod help - 09-21-2007

Hi I'm having iPod problems as well.
I had to take everything off my computer and put it back on again. Unfortunately i lost itunes during this process and had to use a friends disk (as it would take me 13h to download it off the apple website). I updated it on the apple website but now my itunes says that the ipod is "corrupted" and i've lost heaps of songs that i bought and now i can't put any new songs/movies/etc on it. HELP!
thanks in advance
I've also tried restoring and disconnecting & reconnecting but that doesn't help at all.

"iTunes has detected an iPod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod"

ive tried reconnecting it and also restarting it with menu + center button, but i still cant open it in itunes.. yet i can still play it normally when its not connected to the computer..

help plz.

Backup all of your music first and then try restoring the ipod.

First of all drain out the battery and then plug it back into the computer for 20-30 minutes and see if the computer recognizes it. Once your pc recognizes it, you should be able to restore it to the factory default.

Note: By restoring the ipod, you will loose all of the music and data that you have on your ipod.

holding down the centre button and the menu button worked at unlocking our ipod nano. we thought it was corrupt since that was the message we got on itunes......so glad I checked this site for this suggestion before we went to the bother of restoring it. THANKS!
