    Hey talliegirl welcome to the forum.

    1) Songs not showing up on ipod is a common problem. First of all double check that the songs that are on your itunes but not on ipod are actually playable on your computer if you cannot play those songs then they are not in your computer to begin with so they will not be transferred. If you are using an older version of iTunes download the newest version of iTunes and then update the ipod software.

    2) Check the space on your ipod if the ipod is full it will only copy selected songs on your ipod and not all the songs from your library.

    3) ipod compatibility from www.apple.com

    Compatible codecs
    iPod can play songs encoded with these codecs:

    * MP3 (from 32 Kbps to 320 Kbps)
    * MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
    * AIFF *
    * WAV (with no compression)
    * The following require iPod software 1.3 or later:
    o M4A AAC *
    o M4P AAC (Protected) *
    o M4B AAC (iTunes Store Spoken Word files) *
    * The following require iPod software 2.2 or later or iPod mini 1.1 or later:
    o Apple Lossless Encoder

    * Requires iTunes 4 or iTunes 4 for Windows. AAC files also require the most recent update to the iPod software.
    Compatible sample rates

    iPod can play songs with the these sample rates, and with all compatible codecs:

    * 8 kHz
    * 11.025 kHz
    * 16 kHz
    * 22.050 kHz
    * 32 kHz
    * 44.1 kHz

    Audible Spoken Word files

    iPod Software 1.2 and later can play Audible spoken word files in formats 2, 3, and 4. These files have the filename extension, ".aa".

    iTunes 4 and iTunes 4 for Windows work with Audible spoken word files.
    Incompatible codecs

    iPod cannot play songs that use these audio formats:

    * snd
    * QuickTime
    * MP2
    * MP1
    * WAV with compression
    * WMA and WMA Protected
    * any other format not in the Compatible codecs list

    If you copy a song that uses one of the incompatible codecs from your iTunes Library to iPod, you can select the song on iPod, but it will not play. Instead, iPod skips to the next song in the playlist.

    3) If that ipod is only associated with that one particular computer, I would just erase all of the setting on it and reset the ipod and then start the whole sync process from the beginning

    Drain out the battery and then plug it into your computer and try to restore it again.

    Have a technician look at your iPod and if ever try plugging it on your computer as what help desk say.
    It will show an icon in "my computer" window that will tell you whether your iPod is connected or not. Open it then restore it to an earlier time.

    [quote=admin;1117]hold the "center and menu" buttons down, and the ipod will reboot in a few seconds. Not corrupt, just locked-up... its a mac thing.

    Let me know if it works please.[/quot

    Transfer it to another Memory stcik for back up purposes.

    And for the MAC
    Kindl check if your mac has the right requirements to support your ipod.

    Unfortunately, I am not too sure how to go about checking the list of songs that I have. Before the device can scan, there is a pop up that says I have to exit the Real Player Program. That never used to happen before. I might as well jus get a new one. It's too frustrating.
