Have you tried uninstalling itunes completely and then reinstalling it?
I just got a new nano, and i needed to update from my iTunes 6.0 to iTunes 7.0 in order for it to work. So i have the setup file all loaded and i tried to install, but errors pop up about "unable to unregister blah blah blah for QuickTime" and about 4 different errors pop up in a row about, and then i just click okay, and it continues to load, then this error about "unable to access key for blah blah blah verify access" pops up, and i click okay and then it "rolls back" and is unable to install.
How do i fix this QuickTime error pop up problem in order to install my iTunes 7.0.0.70? [the 7.0.0.70 is what it says it is when i click on properties for the iTunes setup shortcut]

There is something called Quicktime standalone installer. Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/ and download Quicktime only.
Install Quicktime.
Then download latest version of itunes and install itunes.
