    Default problem with skype

I use Win98 and have installed skype ver. 2.5.0.141 but after signing in, I get an error message " A call to an OS function Failed" then it shows that I am connected but the screen remains like if it is still connecting. I did manage to receive chats and respond but I cannot get to the standard contact windows. Any idea how to solve this problem.

    Thanks,

    Monis Beraha

Skype says it requires XP or 2000, but I've seen claims on usenet of 98 users running it. But these maybe older versions. So, just wondering if anyone runs the current version under win98, and if so, did they have to do anything to make it work. And also, whether they can talk with someone running it on XP.
You can read more here: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=56053

Also Skype Forums would be a great place to ask this question. If I find something I'll post it here.

I think you maybe able to run an older version of skype, providing it is windows 98 "Second Edition". If you are able to install the software you should be able to communicate with any skype users running any windows software.
