Old iTunes still not working

So I'm yet another victim of the iTUnes 7 series. Everytime I plugged in my nano (gen 1), the iTunes program would freeze up. On top of that, for some reason, all the data on my nano somehow got erased. I went ahead and removed the iTUnes 7.0.2 and installed the 6.0.5 version. Unfortunately, the program still does not recognize the nano when I plug it in (does not acknowledge its existence...can't open it up or even direct he program to allow me to unplug the nano). I'm really fustrated and would really appreciate any insight on this problem. Did I mention I hate Apple updates right now?

Try running ipd (06/28/2006) updater http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...orwindows.html

What this will do is delete ur current firmware from ipod nano and install an older firmware. Let us know if you run into more errors
