Yahoo Messenger 5.6 need voice chat

Hi,

I really need help. I am using Yahoo Messenger 5.6.1356 (on win xp) for quite a while now and dont want to use any newer one for me 6+ is too bloated.

Recently, I wanted to use voice chat (in private message) but it seems it doesnt work anymore at least not with the newer yahoo versions (it works only if my chat partner has the same version 5.6). A message pops up and says I am not allowed to participate in this conference. And at the bottom it says connecting to audio server pls wait... .
Is there a way around this?

I will look into this for you, but I think you have answered the question you ask yourself here

What that alone says to me is that you will not be able to use this feature with anone with a newer version, which suggests that the updated versions and the old conflict, maybe incompatible software etc ... like I said I will see whT I can find out, but from the sounds of it this is going to be a case of "upgrade or stay stuck" ... unless of course you can get everyone you know to downgrade lol
