Default Need help with iTunes 6.0.5.

    Admin.,

I uninstalled of 7.2 iTunes because error 1418 happened. I got rid of the iTunes 7.2. library. Now the iTunes is working fine, playing the songs and everything.

    The Problem:

When I upgraded from iTunes 7.1. to 7.2. I had songs in my iPod. But iTunes said it was corupped (Bad speller). Now I have iTunes 6.0.5 with songs on my iPod. I have no idea what so ever for my iTunes 6.0.5. to read my iPod. And with songs on it, it will think that it is not the right iTunes for the iPod that the iPod belongs to another computer.

I'm not sure if you got all that or if you can help. But if you can it will be greatly appricieated!! (again bad spelling) I would like to take my iPod with the new song I want to download on a trip in about a week so please try to help me before then.

    Thanks very much,

    Wandlight
P.S. This is the same post I put in the general disscution but I onlu just realized that I put my post in the wrong place. I really need help!

Since you have a new ipod updater on the ipod it thinks that u have a wrong ipod.

Do this. Backup all of the songs from iTunes. (Use copypod or some similar software). Reinstall old itunes updater from apple's site on it and then try again. It has worked for many users and hope it will for you too. If not please let me know here and i'll try my best to solve the problem.

Unhappy Re: Need help with iTunes 6.0.5.

I don't think it worked. I uninstalled 6.0.5. iTunes and installed 2006-28-06 iPod installer. Then I reinstalled the 6.0.5. iTunes and pluged in my iPod. Nothing happened. So I thought maybe that if i did the iPod installer again maybe it would work, but it didn't. Is there someway to make iTunes read my iPod? I don't even know if my iPod has the 7.0. version in it or the 2006-28-06 in it. Please help. I really don't know what I'm doing.

    Thanks,

    Wandlight

p.s. Did I say that the iPod I have is a Nano 1st gen, becuase it is.

Well one thing you can do is backup all of your music o the computer by using a software like copypod and then just delete everything from ipod and completely remove itunes version 6.0.5.

Then if you have the original ipod setup cds you can try using that. if not then use one of the old installer from www.Apple.com

You named the problem. I don't know how to wip clean my iPod nano. The only way I know how do delete everything is to let iTunes identify the iPod and then uncheak the songs. After that I hope that everything will be alright becuase iTunes will think that Oh It's a blanc iPod so it must go to this iTunes.

    Thanks,
    Wandlight

I'm leaving on Wednesday so I hope this will work.
