I'm just a clueless user, not a "techie".

using Windows XP home and Firefox.

I recently reformatted my harddrive and reloaded all the software. Before reformatting, I saved all the folders, etc. from the "Documents and Settings" folder to a cd. It was my understanding that the "favorites" folder in "My Documents" was the favorites/bookmarks for my browser. Now I have learned that instead, I should have saved the Bookmarks.html from firefox. Is there anyway I can convert from the "My Documents/Favorites" folder to bookmarks.html? Or am I stuck retyping all of my favorites back in? What is the "my documents/favorites"? it appears to be some sort of a backup or something.
