    Unhappy Error message

I am unable to use the browser -IE5 or Firefox after I installed Firefox (after trying 2.2 or 1.5). I get a message: ERR Unknown command. I had to uninstall Firefox & delete temp & history files (to ensure I started afresh). But I could access WindowsMedia.com thru Window Media Player 9, download Lavasoft Adware update, Avast anti-virus update. I was not able to access the browser using IE5 until I deleted winsock.dll. My OS: WIN2000 on Toshiba Satellite 4090X. Could it be a hardware & software conflict? Any help???

This is definetly now a hardware problem. You should get a portable firefox from portableapps.com on a cd and then run it on that pc and download IE5, or 6.

    Good luck!
