Yes. nero 5 is compatible with Windows XP. Only thing is that youmight not be able to do the registration anymore. nero does not offer registration of old products, so unnless you have a serial number from the past, you are out of luck

Yes I have a serial number from the original CD.
Trouble now is that when Inow try to open the the NERO 5 appl.
computer does not respond and does not open it like it did.
Are they wanting me to buy a later version then?

We do have some versions on the site at http://www.oldapps.com/nero.htm

But if you like, I would recommend buying Nero 7. It has many new features that can be very useful to watch, burn, rip movies and music.

Not sure what country you're in but over here (downunder) it is cheaper to buy a new DVD burner & get the goodies free with it.
