This can be solved easily by restoring old ipod updater version. But fist of all, how old is this ipod?

You should uninstall iTunes version 7 from your computer first then go to http://www.getfirmware.com/ipod.php and download older ipod firmware and install it.

    Question Re: corrupted ipod help

I use Real Player to put songs on my ipod and recently when I connect my ipod to my computer and start up Real Player a "Fatal Application Exit" sign pops up while the "Device scan" is proceeding. Then at the bottom right corner of my screen has a pop up that informs me that there is a corrupted file on my ipod and then instructs me to run the chkdsk utililty. When I do this, I have to wait for all 3 stages to finish and then it just closes without fixing my corrupted file on my ipod. The chkdsk scan says that it only reads the problem.

What do I have to do in order to fix this problem?

Please someone help because I am getting pretty frustrated and my music is my life! Thank you for your time.

Kindly open the storage of your ipod via computer and check all the songs and/or all the files and look for the corrupted file. It is usually displayed in red icon. Then delete it.
We help not because we need to but we help because we want to.........there's a big difference between "need" and "want"
