    Question iTunes file recovery

To make my Windows laptop work with iPod I converted some 2100 wma music files to iTunes, and synced wtih iPot. No problem. Then yesterday I converted another 200 music files. Still no problem. BUT, somehow I moved the iTunes file and when I open iTunes the music library is totally missing. The song files are still on the computer, but not opening.

???-1. I'm afraid to sync my iPod with the 2100 older files. If I link to the laptop is there any danger I'll wipe out the iPod files? If no danger, will that work to make the iTunes library reconnect to the music files?

???-2. Is there any obvious way to reconnect the iTunes program to the iTunes files already on the hard disk?

    Hey Zohaizolo,

First of all welcome to the forums. We hope you will enjoy your stay.

Now let's tackle on your problems.
    1. First of all remove songs from itunes library. (Just from the library and not from the computer. Be careful here)
    2. Search for all music folder(s) on your computer and add them back to iTunes library. (As shown in the image below)
    3. After adding all of the music to iTunes. You are ready to connect your iPod.
    4. Connect your iPod.
    5. Now here is where the trick is at. What you'll be doing here is that you will be uploading music to ipod manually.
    6. Read this post for uploading music manually to ipod.
    7. Upload music to iPod manually until you're sure that all music to ipod is exact same as the one on your computer and then later on you can change the settings to auto sync.
    Another interesting article to read.

I hope this will be a great help to all folks who come across this. Have great day!

OK so I understand that your music from ipod was deleted but it still remains as it was in your computer right?

Just transfer all music files from your PC to your iPod again. Anyways, when the songs in your iPod got deleted, the songs in your computer stays.
We help not because we need to but we help because we want to.........there's a big difference between "need" and "want"
